Be loved
Your value extends beyond your physical appearance. It goes beyond your ability to turn someone’s head or keep the crowd’s attention with your beauty.
You are allowed to desire to be known at a deeper level than just skin on skin. You are allowed to want to be feel safe in friendships and in a relationship.
Perhaps in the past you have only ever been stared at, but never truly seen. Perhaps you have been grabbed, but never held. Maybe you have felt like a commodity or an object because of what has been done to you. What we see in advertisements, entertainment, and even in groups of people we hang out with can put a lot of pressure on a woman to be primarily sexual, instead of acknowledging that at the core of who she is, she is made to thrive where there is relational health and safety.
God always intended for every woman to be loved for who they are as a person. Not for how sexy she can be, or how well she can perform in the bedroom.
You are meant to be loved for your entire personhood.
God wants you to be respected and to be loved. From before you were even born, God, the creator of the world, had you in mind. If you ever wonder, “What am I even alive for?” you can rest knowing that the Wise One of Heaven thought you were a good idea.
Who you are is a gift to the world. You don’t have to try to prove you are worthy of love. Instead, know that you already ARE loved by God, and you will be free to release the incredible blessing of who you are to the people around you.
We invite you to explore this space on The Union Movement, to stay in touch, and to reach out if we can support you in your journey towards feeling respected in your personhood.
